Vitamin D can only be found in small amounts in just a few foods. Most vitamin D– 80% to 90% of what the body gets – is obtained through exposure to sunlight. In recent years, vitamin D deficiency has become more recognized, while simultaneously, knowledge of the roles it plays in promoting health has expanded. It is therefore prudent that individuals should consider supplementing with vitamin D regularly. Vitamin K2 consists of 10 different vitamin subtypes called menaquinones. Because good dietary sources of K2 are limited, and because conversion of K1 to K2 in the intestine can be insufficient, poor vitamin K2 status is common and can contribute to poor calcium metabolism. Vitamin K2 helps to improve bone health.
